nzClub Championships Men

The official page of the New Zealand Club Championships — the country’s top club competition, played since 1968. It is not a league but a four-day tournament with four divisions for both men and women; the 2026 edition runs from 7 to 10 October, with divisions 1 and 2 at Pulman Arena in Takanini, Auckland and divisions 3 and 4 in Tauranga. Division 1 has sixteen men’s teams, with the bigger clubs also entering a second side. The 2025 champions are Shirley Silverbacks, who beat Harbour Raiders 3:1 in the final.

Auckland USO — an Auckland club seeded ninth in Division 1 of the 2026 Club Championships; it has not yet won a national title. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform, where most New Zealand clubs keep their websites.

Capital Wolves — a Wellington club officially called Capital City Volleyball Club, seeded thirteenth in the 2026 men’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

East Coast Volleyball Club — a club from Whakatāne founded in 2018 whose men’s team competes under the historic name East Coast Old Boys (ECOB) and is seeded third in Division 1 for 2026; it finished fourth in 2025. It has no website of its own and in September 2025 merged its social media into a single new page, which the link points to.

Hamilton Huskies — a club from Hamilton in the Waikato whose Prem side is seeded eleventh in the 2026 men’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform, one of the most detailed in the country.

Harbour Dragons — an Auckland club from the North Harbour region, seeded twelfth in the 2026 men’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Harbour Raiders — a club from Auckland’s North Harbour and the most successful current New Zealand men’s side: national champion in 1992, 1997, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2017, 2018, 2023 and 2024. It entered both an A and a B team in Division 1 for 2026 and is one of only two clubs in the country with a domain of its own.

Pioneer Panthers — a Christchurch club seeded first in the 2026 men’s Division 1; under the name Pioneer it won the national title in 1987, 1988 and 1989. On its own domain it offers winter and summer social competitions for men and women alongside its competitive teams.

Scorpions Dunedin — a club from Dunedin on the South Island that won the men’s national title in 1994 as Scorpions; it is seeded fourteenth in Division 1 for 2026. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Shirley Silverbacks — the first team of Christchurch’s Shirley Volleyball Club and the 2025 champion; the club has men’s titles from 1993, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2005, 2009, 2019 and 2025. Its own website is frozen on a long-past event, so the link goes to the team’s live Facebook page.

Tahunanui Sharks — a club from the Nelson suburb of Tahunanui, seeded fifteenth in the 2026 men’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Tauranga Tigers — the competitive teams of Tauranga Volleyball Club in the Bay of Plenty; as Tauranga the club won the men’s national title in 2003 and finished third in 2025. Its page on the Sporty platform is empty, so the link goes to the club’s official Instagram account, which covers its men’s, women’s and junior teams.

Titans VC — a Wellington club whose Titans Gold side is seeded seventh in the 2026 men’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Waitakere Rebels — a club from West Auckland whose Rebels Black side is seeded eighth in the 2026 men’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.
