nzClub Championships Women

The official page of the New Zealand Club Championships — the country’s top club competition, played since 1968. It is not a league but a four-day tournament with four divisions for both men and women; the 2026 edition runs from 7 to 10 October, with divisions 1 and 2 at Pulman Arena in Takanini, Auckland and divisions 3 and 4 in Tauranga. Division 1 has sixteen women’s teams, with the bigger clubs also entering a second side. The 2025 champions are Harbour Raiders ahead of Shirley Silverbacks.

Auckland Central VC — a club that grew in 2011 out of a group of friends playing once a week in Ellerslie, Auckland, and today runs indoor, beach and social sections. Its women’s A team finished third in 2025 and is seeded fifth in Division 1 for 2026. It is one of only two clubs in the country with a domain of its own.

East Coast Bays Thunder — a club from Auckland’s North Shore that entered both an A and a B team in the 2026 women’s Division 1, with the A side seeded third. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

East Coast Volleyball Club — a club from Whakatāne founded in 2018 whose women’s team competes as East Coast Old Girls (ECOG) and is seeded fourth in Division 1 for 2026. It has no website of its own and in September 2025 merged its social media into a single new page, which the link points to.

Hamilton Huskies — a club from Hamilton in the Waikato whose Prem side is seeded seventh in the 2026 women’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform, one of the most detailed in the country.

Harbour Raiders — a club from Auckland’s North Harbour and the most successful current New Zealand women’s side: national champion in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2023 and 2025. It is seeded first in Division 1 for 2026 and is one of only two clubs in the country with a domain of its own.

Manaia VC — a Canterbury club whose women’s team Wahine Toa won Division 2 in 2025 and reached the sixteen-team Division 1 for 2026, where it is seeded eleventh. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Otepoti Vikings — a Dunedin club whose women’s A team is seeded sixth in Division 1 for 2026. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Shirley Silverbacks — the women’s team of Christchurch’s Shirley Volleyball Club, national champion in 2015 and runner-up in 2025; the club also enters a second side, the Greybacks, in Division 1. Its own website is frozen on a long-past event, so the link goes to the live Facebook page.

Sparta VC — an Auckland club from Panmure and one of the oldest in the country, winner of the very first men’s Club Championships in 1968; its women’s team won the national title in 1976, 1977, 1986 and 1987. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Tahunanui Sharks — a club from the Nelson suburb of Tahunanui, seeded fourteenth in the 2026 women’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.

Tauranga Tigers — the women’s teams of Tauranga Volleyball Club in the Bay of Plenty; as Tauranga the club won the national title in 1981, 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2018. Its page on the Sporty platform is empty, so the link goes to the club’s official Instagram account, which covers its men’s, women’s and junior teams.

Wellington Storm — a women’s volleyball club from Wellington founded in 2023 that reached Division 1 for 2026, where it is seeded fifteenth. It has no website of its own, so the link goes to its official Instagram account.

Western BOP Phoenix — a club from the western Bay of Plenty whose Phoenix Blue side is seeded ninth in the 2026 women’s Division 1. The link goes to its club site on the Sporty platform.
